About us

The National Centre for Sustainable Development (NCSD) was established in 1997 under the aegis of the Romanian Academy, as an agency of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In 2001, NCSD became an independent non-governmental organization and broadened the scope of its activities.

Through sustained efforts and thanks to the professionalism of its members and collaborators, NCSD succeeded in becoming one of the most authorized voices within the Romanian civil society in drafting proposals and strategies for sustainable development.

Starting from 2009, NCSD has been drafting and implementing projects that benefit from financing from the European Union and the Romanian Government.
